Advocating on Capitol Hill
Each year the National Association for Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) hosts nearly 400 advocates from across the nation to Washington, DC to educate Members of Congress about the importance of pro-patient, pro-pharmacy policy and key issues..
In 2017, 20 field team leaders from 8 different states attending the annual event to meet with their lawmakers to talk about their experience as pharmacists, the impact of pending legislation, and advocate for laws and policies that recognize the value of pharmacy in the healthcare system.
Our involvement demonstrates that we our dedicated to advancing pharmacy and quality patient services. Jennifer Barnett, Ft. Worth, TX Pharmacist, said "This was my first time participating in RxIMPACT, and it was quite an honor to represent the profession of pharmacy and share my real-life stories. My team visited nine congressional offices in all, and we were able to see how we can make a difference in the policies our representatives influence."
